Catisfield

Small settlement between Titchfield and Fareham with quiet residential streets, a church, and a separate identity from both neighbours.

Catisfield is a small settlement to the east of Titchfield, sitting between the village and Fareham town. It has its own identity, distinct from both Titchfield and Fareham, though modern development has reduced the gap between the three. The heart of Catisfield is the area around Catisfield Lane and the junction with the roads leading to Titchfield and Fareham. There is a church, a few older properties, and a scattering of houses that predate the twentieth-century expansion. The housing in Catisfield is predominantly twentieth-century, with a mix of inter-war and post-war development. The area has a quiet, residential character with little commercial activity. Residents tend to look to either Titchfield village or Fareham town centre for their shopping and services. Catisfield Lane connects through to the roads heading north towards Funtley and the M27, giving the area reasonable road access without being on a major route. The countryside around Catisfield includes remnants of the agricultural landscape that once separated the village settlements in the Meon valley. Some footpaths and bridleways provide access to the surrounding fields and woods. Catisfield is not a destination in its own right, but it is a pleasant residential area that benefits from its position between the historic village and the larger town. Property here tends to be slightly more affordable than in Titchfield village centre, while still offering access to the village community and its facilities.
