Village Events in Titchfield
The annual calendar of community happenings
Titchfield has a full calendar of village events that reflects the strength and vitality of its community. The events range from large public gatherings to smaller, more intimate occasions organised by clubs and societies.
The Titchfield Carnival is the highlight of the year. Held in the summer, it features a procession of decorated floats through the village streets, followed by a fete on Barry's Meadow with stalls, rides, entertainment, and refreshments. The carnival has been running for many decades and is one of the largest and best-attended village events in Hampshire. It brings together the whole community and draws visitors from across the Fareham borough and beyond.
The Christmas lights switch-on is another well-attended event, held on The Square in late November or early December. The village tree is lit, carols are sung, and the event marks the beginning of the festive season in Titchfield. The pubs and local businesses participate, and the atmosphere is warm despite the winter cold.
The Titchfield Festival Theatre stages performances throughout the year at the Great Barn, and the opening nights and special performances are social events as much as cultural ones. The theatre's summer production is particularly popular.
The church holds regular events, including the harvest festival, Christmas services, and summer fetes. The history society organises talks and walks. The horticultural society holds shows and competitions. The bowling club has its season of fixtures and social events.
The community centre hosts a rolling programme of activities, from quiz nights to coffee mornings, and these provide regular social opportunities for residents of all ages.
The village noticeboard on The Square and local social media pages are the best sources of information on upcoming events. The parish council website also lists community events.
