Common Lane runs through the Titchfield Common area, providing the main access route to the residential development east of the village centre. The lane takes its name from the former common land that was enclosed and developed during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The housing along Common Lane is predominantly post-war, with semi-detached and detached houses in a suburban style. The lane connects to Heath Road and to the routes heading towards Locks Heath.
