Mill Street
Street guide, Titchfield
Mill Street lies in the area north of the village centre, near the River Meon and the former mill sites. The street connects to Bridge Street and provides access to properties along the river corridor. The name reflects the milling history of the area, where the flow of the Meon and its side channels powered grain mills for centuries. Mill Street has a handful of residential properties, some of them older houses that predate the modern village expansion. The street is quiet and lightly used, with a character shaped by the proximity of the river and the flat, damp ground of the water meadows. It is one of the more atmospheric streets in Titchfield, particularly on a misty morning when the river valley fills with low-lying fog.
