Posbrook Lane

Street guide, Titchfield

Posbrook Lane runs south from the village towards Meon Shore and Titchfield Haven. It is a narrow country lane with hedgerows, fields, and scattered houses along its length. The lane passes through agricultural land and gradually descends towards the coastal marshes and the nature reserve. The southern end of Posbrook Lane reaches the area around Titchfield Haven, where the visitor centre and bird hides provide access to the reserve. The lane is popular with walkers and cyclists, though it has no footpath for much of its length and care is needed when sharing the road with vehicles. The properties along Posbrook Lane tend to be substantial houses in large plots, reflecting the desirability of the rural setting. The lane connects the village to some of the finest landscape in the Fareham borough, and a walk down Posbrook Lane on a spring morning, with the hedgerows in blossom and the sound of birdsong from the fields, is one of the quiet pleasures of living in Titchfield.
